2021 Westmore Mountain Challenge Results

Congratulations to the participants of the 2021 Westmore Mountain Challenge! Despite a brief torrential downpour in the morning, the sun emerged around midday, drying out participants on the trail and making for a beautiful September marathon. We had 150 registrants, 120 participants, and 65 finishers of the full marathon-length hike. 2020 Westmore Mountain Challenge Results

Well the 2020 Westmore Mountain Challenge could not have had more perfect weather or fall foliage! Firstly, a big congratulations to all our hikers -- every year we are blown away by the determination and resilience of our participants who we are proud to say cover the full array of trail enthusiasts, from speed-oriented mountain runners to stop-and-enjoy-the-view hikers and everyone in between. 2018 Westmore Mountain Challenge Results!

We are pleased to announce the second annual Westmore Mountain Challenge was a success!! For this year's event, Forests, Parks & Recreation extended our permit to 150 participants, which sold out by August. The conditions were pretty rough for hikers on Saturday in the AM with temperatures in the 30s and 40s, light rain in the low elevations and snow on the mountain tops, but the sun peeked out in the afternoon. Building Resilience: Cenkl’s 2018 VT Climate Run

Our friend and board member Pavel Cenkl is doing it again! In 2015 he ran his first Climate Run - 240km across Iceland from south to north. In 2017 he ran a grueling path on the Arctic Trail through northern Scandinavia. And this summer, he will be bringing climate resilience and awareness close to home with a 500 mile trek, biking down the full length of the state of Vermont in a single day, then running back north via the Long Trail.
