2020 Westmore Mountain Challenge Results

Well the 2020 Westmore Mountain Challenge could not have had more perfect weather or fall foliage! Firstly, a big congratulations to all our hikers -- every year we are blown away by the determination and resilience of our participants who we are proud to say cover the full array of trail enthusiasts, from speed-oriented mountain runners to stop-and-enjoy-the-view hikers and everyone in between. 2018 Westmore Mountain Challenge Results!

We are pleased to announce the second annual Westmore Mountain Challenge was a success!! For this year's event, Forests, Parks & Recreation extended our permit to 150 participants, which sold out by August. The conditions were pretty rough for hikers on Saturday in the AM with temperatures in the 30s and 40s, light rain in the low elevations and snow on the mountain tops, but the sun peeked out in the afternoon.   Tomorrow is national Giving Tuesday. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you, our good friends, for your past support of NorthWoods’ programs and let you know just how much community giving means to us. We couldn't do it without you! Last December, our Fall fund drive raised $21,000 toward the cost of offering conservation and outdoor programs. This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the year.
