Like hauling logs on a smooth packed trail, our 1-year Working Lands grant period went by fast!
In April 2014 with funding from the Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative, NorthWoods added a 5-ton log forwarding trailer to our equipment shed. Since then we’ve completed four low-impact timber harvests, working in the Spitzer Demonstration Forest and with local landowners to enhance forest habitat, improve future timber stand value, and bring sustainably-harvested sawlogs and firewood into NEK wood markets.
