Serving Youth and Communities for over 30 Years!
Many of our alum joined our ranks through participation in our Conservation Corps. Originally founded in 1995 as the Northeast Kingdom Conservation Service Corps (NEKCSC or ‘Kingdom Corps’), the NorthWoods Conservation Corps has served the youth and communities of northern Vermont, New Hampshire and beyond for over 25 years. In this time, the Corps has worked with thousands of local young people and completed over 250,000 hours of conservation and community service work throughout the region.
Whether you were on the local crews here at NorthWoods, down in the Lyndon/Burke area, deep in the woods with the Backcountry Crew, or on one of our YCC crews working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Corps alumni have a special bond that speaks to a common experience. These experiences: working on the trail, planting trees in the rain, camping out, or finishing a job well done are as unique as the crews that made them. They also speak to the quality experience that every crew member and leader enjoys in the NorthWoods Conservation Corps program.
Feel like reconnecting with NorthWoods and other alum, including your fellow crew members from years’ past? Send us your info! We want to hear from you! Our alumni program is designed to engage past crew members, provide updates on current initiatives, and create a professional support network for our alumni. Most importantly, we look forward to catching up and learning more about your personal path in life and how the Corps may have shaped your decision-making.
Stay Connected
Take a moment and use our alumni update form to update your personal contact information. Please send us your name, address, and email and let us know what year(s) you worked with us, and what program(s) or crews you worked on. Plus, by being on our list, you’ll have access to alumni discounts on events and store items!
Corps Celebration Weekend
The Corps Celebration Weekend is held annually with our traditional end of season Field Day Competition for current crews, followed by our Season Celebration get together. Corps Alumni are encouraged to join the celebration on either or both days. This is a great opportunity for alumni to come together, catch up and see what is new at NorthWoods. We hope to see you there! Email corps@northwoodscenter.org for more information.
