Take a Look: Low-Impact Forestry in the Works

What are our forestry staff up to this winter? Right now the job is working on a low-impact harvest for a landowner in West Charleston using our tractor and forwarding trailer. 2/23 Trails Update – Poor snow conditions :(

As this photo from our lodge webcam will attest, snow conditions have not been the best! Trails at NorthWoods and at the Willoughby State Forest have NOT been groomed this week, due to poor weather conditions and snowmobile repairs. Keep your fingers crossed for more end of season snow!

February 16th Trails Update

Willoughby State Forest Weekly Trails Update All the trails have been groomed as of 1/13/2018, which include the Little Loop, Middle Loop, Bartlett Loop, the Connector trail, the CCC road and the Bartlett Mountain rd. Tracks are set on the Little and Middle loops along with the two roads. As of Tuesday the trails were in wonderful shape with an additional 6-8 inches of powder after the weekend storm. Willoughby State Forest Weekly Trails Update All the trails have been groomed as of 2/9/2018, which include the Little Loop, Middle Loop, Bartlett Loop, the Connector trail, the CCC road and the Bartlett Mountain rd. Good News: There are 5 inches of fresh powder out on the trails! Woohoo! Bad News: Our snowmobile has broken down. ☹️ Which means that despite our best laid plans to groom the Mt Hor trails today, it looks like grooming will be on hiatus until the needed repairs occur. We are hoping that will mean we'll be back out by Sunday, but it could be next week. Willoughby State Forest Weekly Trails Update All the trails have been groomed as of 1/14/2018, which include the Little Loop, Middle Loop, Bartlett Loop, the Connector trail, the CCC road and the Bartlett Mountain Rd. Tracks are set on the Little and Middle loops along with the two roads. The warm temps and rain will not stop us this time! All the trails have been groomed as of 12/29, which include the Little Loop, Middle Loop, Bartlett Loop, the Connector trail, the CCC road and the Bartlett Mountain rd.
