Staff Visit the NY State Tree Nursery in Saratoga

This month, Jess Colby (Riparian Lands Project Coordinator) and Brooke Fleischman (State Seed Coordinator for the Intervale Conservation Nursery) visited the New York State Tree Nursery in Saratoga to learn more about their seed collection, processing, and storage techniques. The Colonel William F. Fox Memorial Saratoga Tree Nursery is the oldest state forest tree nursery in the country. NVU Announces Sustainable Trail Building Education Partnership

Lyndonville, VT – Northern Vermont University’s Center for Professional Studies announces a collaboration with the NorthWoods Stewardship Center to offer a hands-on Sustainable Trail Building Certificate program of study at the conservation organization’s site in East Charleston, Vt. Snow, Snow! Winter Trails Open

While January was looking pretty dreary snow-wise, this past week has delivered some nice conditions to begin laying down a real base for our ski and snowshoe trails, and the forecast looks encouraging for it to stay that way!  According to staff member Charles Hill who in charge of trail grooming: We have finally gotten enough snow to groom our trails! Project Overview The NorthWoods Stewardship Center, located in the Clyde River Watershed in East Charleston, Vermont is an organization with a strong sense of place.
