Conservation Corps Assistant Director
(She/her & They/Them)
Blase Saucedo grew up in the heart of Texas, spending most of her time in the woods. Whether she was riding dirt bikes, climbing trees, building forts, or just laying in the duff, she always felt the most comfortable with dirt on her hands. In her adult life, Blase decided to take on backpacking and she never looked back. In the Summer of 2019, she trekked across the country on the Pacific Crest Trail. It was this time that the true interest in conservation ignited.
Although their blood runs deep in the South, Blase has roots right here in the Kingdom too. After completing the PCT, she hopped on her motorcycle and rode from Texas to East Burke, VT. At the time, the plan was to stay for a Winter, learn how to ski, visit family, then move on to the next adventure. However, the pull to stay was too strong and Blase didn’t fight it either. The adventure was right here. Blase started her NorthWoods journey in 2020 as a member of the White Mountain Pro Crew, and continued the next season as the crew-leader. Now she is taking on a new position as the Conservation Corps Assistant Director.
When she is not at NorthWoods, Blase spends her time with her partner and their toddler. Together they love exploring the forests, identifying plants, mushrooms, birds, and butterflies.
