Keith Paglen is a co-founder of the Ocean Research & Conservation Association. A non-profit created to protect marine ecosystems through the development of innovative technologies and science-based conservation action.
Prior to co-founding ORCA, Keith was at Canon U.S.A. where he was nationally known for directing one of the nation’s most comprehensive corporate environmental branding and philanthropic efforts. An example of his success involved launching the Canon National Parks Science Scholars Program, a collaboration among Canon, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the US National Park Service, to annually fund eight $80,000 Ph.D. scholarships for candidates conducting their research on conservation priorities of national parks throughout the Americas.
Keith holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. John’s University and a Harvard University Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies in Sustainability & Environmental Management. His thesis was Evaluating the Potential Contribution Towards a Climate Change Stabilization Wedge from Changes in Cattle Production.
Keith volunteers as Assistant Scoutmaster for a local Scout troop and for Burke Mountain’s ski patrol. He lives in Kirby with his wife Christin and son Chip, where the family enjoys alpine skiing, hiking, biking and horseback riding.
