Would-be hunters must successfully complete the Hunter Education course in order to purchase their first license. All courses are led by certified volunteer instructors, all are free, including materials, and all are open to all ages and experience. All courses, reading materials, and exams are written at a 6th grade reading level.
There is no prerequisite homework prior to starting this course. You will receive all materials on the first night of class. Throughout the course your instructor will cover many topics including firearm handling, ethics & safety, map & compass and so much more. You must attend all days.
Participants must attend all the course hours. There will be a live fire exercise and exam. Participants who pass all aspects of this course will be presented with their orange firearm safety card at the end.
Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Do not bring your own gun or ammo. All supplies will be provided to you at no cost.
