We are excited to welcome two new members to the Riparian Lands Crew, Alex Sehl and Jake Gallinger.
Jake recently graduated from SUNY College of Envionmental Science and Forestry with a degree in Wildlife Science and will be joining the Conservation Science Department for the first time after serving as the Youth Conservation Corps Crew Leader for the Moosehorn NWR crew last season. They love spending time outdoors and engaging in activities such as hiking, kayaking, bird watching, and camping.
Alex graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022 with degrees in biology and environmental studies. Her favorite outdoor interests include botany and entomology, and she enjoys hammocking, hiking, camping, and swimming. After driving all the way from San Francisco, she is excited for this new chapter at NorthWoods. With their combined passion for nature and the environment, we are thrilled to have both Alex and Jake join us for the 2023 Riparian Lands season, and we look forward to seeing all that they will contribute to the team!
Jake and Alex will be hopping around northern Vermont this eason, continuing the innovative native seed saving and riparian restoration work of previous years’ crews, under the direction of Riparian Lands Project Coordinator Jess Colby and Conservation Science Director Meg Carter. Stay tuned to learn more about the great work they’ll be up to this summer!
